Blake Hale, from Norwich, Norfolk, died suddenly on Friday after complications with undiagnosed type 1 diabetes.

He was rushed to hospital but tragically never woke up.

The teenager was part of the Wroxham's academy and played in the Eastern Junior Alliance League. His club had high hopes for the popular young player's future.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by family friend Kelly Mason to help his parents Kevin Hale and Amie Daniels and has already raised more than £12,000.

In a tribute to Blake, his family said: "Blake has lived on the Larkman estate all his life, just 16 he lived with his mum Amie and Dad Kevin, he has three siblings, Brandon, 15, Mia, 11, and Macie, seven.

"Blake had been together with his girlfriend Lily also 16 for over a year.

"He was a talented player with a feisty attitude, this got him spotted by the Csf programme which he also joined. He supported Chelsea FC and would banter with his dad and brother who are both Man United fans.

Blake was at home with his family on 15th April when he became unwell very quickly.

"Unbeknown to anyone Blake had Type 1 Diabetes, he was admitted to hospital with sky high blood sugar levels but unfortunately the damage was to severe and Blake was Pronounced Stem Brain dead on Friday 17th April.

"Blake's symptoms could of been masked by his ADHD traits as no one noticed any changes in Blake until it was too late."

The World Association of Wrestling has also renamed their Kids Room at their Norwich headquarters as the "Blake Hale Memorial Room" in memory of the keen wrestler.

They posted a video of Blake's highlights with a tribute: "The whole of the WAW family are devastated to hear about the passing of one of the YC Originals, Blake Hale.
